The Winter Festival (2023) was an event in Adopt Me! that began on November 30, 2023. It lasted for thirty-five days and ended on January 4, 2024.

This event brought new items, a new area known as the Winter Village that is accessed via the Arctic Express, and new minigames. There was also an Advent Calendar in this event.

During the event, players could swap 3,500 in exchange for 70,000 only once by talking to Billy.

Activities

There were 5 activities in which the player could earn the event currency, Gingerbread.

Ice Skating

During this event, the lake is frozen, allowing players to skate on the ice instead of swimming in the lake.

Every in-game day, Gingerbread will scatter around the lake. As players skate, they can collect the gingerbread shapes, which disappear when collected. Each gingerbread shape collected is worth 12. There are also penguins that move around on the ice and slow the player down if bumped into. By collecting all 160 gingerbread shapes, players can receive a maximum of 1,920 from one session.

Players can also start timed races by interacting with Speedy The Penguin. For completing a race for the first time, players will receive 500.

Unlike previous years, there is no pop-up when Gingerbread appears on the lake.

Pet Rescue

This minigame made a return since its first appearance in the Winter Holiday (2021).

Players are randomly assigned into one of 2 teams, Team Sabertooth or Team Mammoth. The 2 teams compete with each other to be the first to break their pet free from a block of ice in two minutes, which is a Sabertooth and Woolly Mammoth for Team Sabertooth and Team Mammoth respectively. Players are given a pickaxe, which is used to chip away the ice and free their team's pet. After enough hits, the ice block starts to slide across the ice and players must chase after it to continue chipping away the ice. The ice block gains the ability to knock players down, temporarily stopping them from chipping away the ice. There are also large Penguins on the ice that can knock players down. Players will receive 2,800 for playing and a bonus 400 if they win, totalling to maximum of 3,200 per game if they win.

Frostclaw's Fury

This minigame was released on the second week of the event. In this minigame, up to twelve players will play a storyline game to save the future of Christmas from Frostclaw by surviving several stages of the story. This minigame rewards more Gingerbread, lasts much longer, and is playable any time. The Christmas Future Egg has a 1 in 3 chance of spawning every round and can be won by finding it and winning the minigame. The minigame features a health meter, where players get eliminated if this meter is fully depleted to 0%. Eating food heals them by a certain amount, while resting in a bed heals them by 30%. The minigame also features full voice-acting.

Frostclaw's Fury starts off with Miss Eltow taking the players and Santa into a portal created by Tom using a sleigh, where they enter a ruined version of Adoption Island with a castle at the center. When they enter the castle, players are tasked to search for items from drawers and closets. By searching all the drawers and closets, players find 60 Snowballs, and one of three sets of items: 6 Apples, a Ham and a Wooden Sword; 3 Ham and a Wooden Sword; and 4 Apples, 2 Ham and a Hyperspeed Potion. Shortly after, Miss Eltow gives each player a free Cookie before they rest in beds.

When morning rises, Frostclaw appears and the chandelier falls on the bed covered in eggnog, depleting around a quarter of the player's health meter who slept in that bed. The chandelier causes the room to flood with eggnog and players must reach higher ground. Players lose 10% of their health for every two seconds spent in the flood. When the eggnog fully rises, one player must dive into the eggnog and unclog the drain, draining the eggnog. Then, Santa and Miss Eltow appear and find an elf named Thistlebeard, before the players visit a shop where they have one minute to purchase items using Snowballs including Ham, Apples, a Toy Sword, a Hyperspeed Potion, and 500. Players can get 50 more Snowballs using 10 once during their current run.

Then, players are tasked to repair beds using wood found in the room, with each bed requiring three wood planks. However, a maximum of four beds can be made. Shortly after, Frostclaw appears again and players now have to survive a wave of evil Snowmen, Snowball Pets and Ice Golems, where their attacks cause players to lose 10% of their health if nearby. The enemies can be attacked using swords, and for each one defeated, they give Gingerbread to all surviving players. A trapdoor opens sometime after, leading players to a tunnel where they must run from a moving spiked wall. The spiked wall and the spikes found in the tunnel deplete the health meter by 10% if touched. Santa pulls rope at the end to take the players to safety.

The surviving players end up in a room with Santa holding a Cookie basket that Thistlebeard gave him, although if a player takes one they will lose 30% of their health, and this is where a Christmas Future Egg can appear (1 in 3 chance of spawning). A Wooden Sword will appear in a snow drift in this room if the player did not find a Wooden sword in the search. Frostclaw appears again, saying he poisoned the Cookies, before attacking the players with his frost breath, where players will lose 10% of their health for every two seconds spent in it. Players avoid his breath by standing behind or on top of the bookshelves, but Frostclaw knocks them over, where crushed players lose 50% of their health. When all the bookshelves have fallen, Santa lifts them back up before Frostclaw destroys them. Then, Frostclaw freezes Santa and throws him out a window, before his icy breath starts to fill up the room, where players must go down a slide whilst avoiding blobs of eggnog. In the slide, they can move by swiping their finger across the screen or by moving their mouse from one side to another.

For the final battle against Frostclaw, players need to avoid his icy breath, falling icicles, and some waves of enemies. In the first and second phase, he does two of these attacks, while on his third, he does all three. After these attacks, Frostclaw will jump onto one of three platforms, where a player must press a button to pour lava on him. By doing this three times, Frostclaw is defeated and Santa is freed. Frostclaw is revealed to be Thistlebeard, before revealing his true name to be "CUTIE COTTON CALEB", and flees using a Ice Pick Grappling Hook. Miss Eltow then arrives to take the players and Santa back home.

Frostclaw's Fury will give you an average if you beat it of around 7,000-9,500.

Santa's Workshop

This minigame was released on the third week of the event.

Players are split into two teams and are given elf outfits. Players have ninety seconds to pick up Figgy Pudding Chew Toys, Snowman Plushies, Strawberry Kitty Throw Toys, and small Festive Deliveries Present Trucks that appear on the conveyor belts and put them into their corresponding piles to earn points. For each toy delivered, the team receives 100 points. Players can carry up to four toys at once, but they can only pick up one type. Golden toys can appear, which reward 500 points for putting them in the correct pile. During the final fifteen seconds, frenzy mode is activated, increasing the speed of all players and toys as well as doubling the points earnt. Players receive 1,250 for playing plus 50 for each delivery. Players on the winning team can receive up to 3,250 in this minigame, or 2,750 if they are on the losing team.

Cocoa Chaos

This minigame was released on the fourth week of the event.

Players must deliver Hot Cocoa to Beluga Whales, Peppermint Penguins, and Chocolate Chip Bat Dragons scattered around an area with various hazards that will knock players down, and knock the scattered pets away from the player. The hazards include giant snowballs and falling icicles. Just like the Santa's Workshop minigame, there is a frenzy mode activated during the last 15 seconds, allowing the players to run faster, but won't earn extra points when they deliver the cups. Once a player has delivered 10 Hot Cocoa cups within 2 minutes, they will finish the game and earn the maximum amount of 3,250.
