Rules and Guidelines

Adopt Me! Wiki has its set of rules and guidelines for users to follow, in order to keep the wiki in a good shape and interactions between users. Disobeying the rules will result in discipline.

The Editing Guidelines do not necessarily count as rules, as they are meant as guidelines on how to properly edit an article. However, repeatedly disobeying the Editing Guidelines will lead to discipline, as they are disruptive.

All Fandom policies, specifically the Terms of Use and Community Guidelines, apply to all Fandom wikis, meaning all users must follow them.

We are not affiliated with DreamCraft

We do not have direct relations with NewFissy, Bethink, or any other developer. We are simply fans of their creation, Adopt Me!, and just want to help other fans by documenting the game. We cannot add any ideas you have and fix any issues you have. Though the developers may occasionally appear on this wiki, their presence does not confirm affiliation.

Policies

User Conduct

By creating a Fandom account and using the Adopt Me! Wiki, you will adhere and follow Fandom's User Conduct and Fandom's Community Guidelines.

You will also adhere to not do the following on Adopt Me! Wiki:

Harass other wiki users;
Vandalize pages nor edit user pages other than yours;
Post content containing any inappropriate language;
Post or share content that contains obscene, pornographic, abusive, or offensive content;
Post or transmit content that contains homophobia, ethnic slurs, religious intolerance, or content that encourages criminal conduct;
Post, upload, share, or save unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, solicitations, "spam", or any other type of unauthorized solicitation;
Impersonate a user, either a Roblox or a wiki user;
Create and/or use accounts to evade blocks, manipulate an impression of an idea or post, or mislead users.

Discussion and Commentary Policies

Users will adhere to the following when posting or commenting anywhere in the wiki and Discussion:

The User Conduct Policies are applied in Discussions.
Keep discussion language PG-13.
- Adopt Me! Wiki is strictly for users of ages 13 and up, in accordance with Fandom's Terms of Use.
- BLACKLIST: Any abbreviation that contains the f-word or terms meant for mature audience is strictly prohibited.
Building Services are prohibited if it involves payment or trade.
- Building services shall only be done through the "Build With Friends" feature.
Pet Services, also known as pet-sitting, is prohibited if it involves payment or trade.
- Pet services shall only be done through the in-game "Family" feature.
Any flame war, hateful conversation, or form of harassment will be deleted and will not be tolerated.
Any political discussions are strictly prohibited. (more information)
All users must be treated fairly and with respect.
- Keep discussions civil and open-minded about differing opinions.
Discussions of moderation actions, online daters, and/or unsolicited advertisement of other wikis/groups/organizations are not allowed.
Do not discuss any scam or hack incidents.
- Unfortunately, if you have been scammed, no one can retrieve your scammed items back. (See Adopt Me!'s Team FAQ.)
Do not share social media or any real-life information.
Do not discuss any personal issues anywhere in the wiki (more information).
Posts made intentionally to gain users' sympathy are prohibited.
- Examples: quitting posts, sob stories, etc.
Loopholing is not allowed at all.
- Loopholing is an action where a user attempts to go around the punishment.
  - Example: Someone spells a swear word in a different sequence.
Off-site links are prohibited. Do not post links outside of Fandom or Roblox. (more information)
- Official Adopt Me! links, such as social media, are allowed.
Posts that solicit upvotes AND/OR comments are not permitted.
False reporting posts is strictly prohibited (more information).
We are an English wiki. Communicate in English only! (more information)
Do not mini-moderate (more information).
- Mini-moderation is when a user acts as a moderator and chooses to issue a warning or reminder through a Talk Page or post.
Spamming, trolling, or vandalizing of any kind will be deleted and will lead to your account being banned.
- Spamming is considered a user who posts multiple posts in a short period.
- Trollers are considered to be those who break one rule repeatedly or multiple rules in a short amount of time.
Necroposting is not allowed. (more information)
- Necroposting is defined as when a user replies or bumps a post, where the last activity was 30 or more days ago.
Sharing Among Us and Kahoot invites are prohibited. (more information)
Do not bring attention to raids.
- If there is a raid, please do not announce or get involved in it. It will panic the community more.
  Instead, report it or message a Discussion Moderator or an Administrator.
The usage of art platforms that allow bases to be adapted to users' liking is not allowed. This does not apply to profile pictures. (more information)
- Examples: Picrew and Gacha.
Off-topic posts in the Fan Art category are prohibited.
Mentioning Traderie is strictly prohibited.
- Do not post images that show the site's UI (user interface).
Art Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. (more information)
- Definition: "Stealing and taking credit for someone else's artwork without proper permission or attribution to the original artist."
Credit must be attributed to Art Tracing. (more information)
- Definition: "Reproducing someone else's artwork by tracing, without proper permission from or attribution to the original artist. The art pieces have many similarities."
Do not ask for free items or donations.

Trading Policies

When trading in Discussions, please adhere to these trading rules:

All trade posts must follow the User Conduct and the Discussion and Commentary Policies.
Do not offer or request trades with more than 18 items at once.
Do not cross trade.
- Cross trading is considered trading for bucks, trading for Robux/Roblox gift cards, or any other trades outside of the intended trading system from the Adopt Me! game.
- Do not sell items using/for Robux or real-life currency.
Do not attempt to intentionally scam.

Giveaway Policies

When creating a giveaway in Discussions, please adhere to these giveaway rules:

All giveaway posts must follow the User Conduct and the Discussion and Commentary Policies.
User’s Roblox AND Fandom account must be at least 30 days old.
Any user who hosts a giveaway must include their Roblox username on the post.
All giveaways must be categorized under "Giveaways".
- If you have not, a Discussion Moderator or Administrator will change the post to the appropriate category.
Do not repost or advertise your giveaway.
Do not create fake or joke posts when hosting a giveaway.
Users should only host one giveaway at a time.
Giveaways must provide a guaranteed prize to one or more users.
- Hosts must give a prize, even if no participant wins or satisfies the giveaway condition.
Mentioning users to advertise or require as entry to a giveaway is strictly prohibited. (more information)

Guidelines

Editing Guidelines

Please adhere to these guidelines in order to keep the wiki professional and clean:

All information should be confirmed from ONE OR MORE of the following credible sources:
- Content published in the past or current version of the Adopt Me! Game
- Adopt Me! Twitter
- Adopt Me! Instagram
- Adopt Me! TikTok
- Adopt Me! YouTube
- Adopt Me! Discord from the following channels: #announcements, #update-logs, or #adopt-me-faq
- Adopt Me! Website
Make sure each item page has the following:
- An infobox
- Proper formatting (e.g., In source editor: Infobox then the description of item...)
  - Make sure the article looks appealing.
- Formality Rules (e.g., Proper capitalization, no use of first-person, limit the use of second-person, etc.)
Do not add unnecessary categories to pages. It's strongly recommended to only add articles to existing categories!
Include links to pages when necessary.
- If there is a name, place, or thing that links to an article, link it.
  - Example: The Cure All Potion is part of the 2019 Advent Calendar.
Fix red links.
- Red links are links that are addressed are redirects but are redirected to a page that does not exist.
Make sure that everything is grammatically correct and that spelling and punctuation are accurate.
This wiki should be in American English (-er, no 'u' in color, etc.).
Make sure all item names are in-game names and are properly capitalized.
- Proper nouns are names, places, or groups
  - Example: That is a potion. This potion is called the Levitation Potion.
  - In this case, the "Levitation Potion" is the name of the potion. The potion just describes what kind of drink it is, therefore it is not a proper noun and not capitalized.
The first occurrence of the page's subject must be bold. All subsequent occurrences should be normal text.
- Ex. The Starter Egg is given to you when you first play. The Starter Egg is also free.
The wiki should reflect the current state of the game. Rumors or unreleased content should not be used or published on the wiki.
- Unreleased content can be published ONLY IF the information is confirmed by one of the credible sources listed.
Do not edit the same page multiple times in a row.
Write correctly-spelled grammatical full sentences.
- Watch out for those homophones, subject-verb agreement issues, and compound adjectives.
Do not add pointless trivia.
- Do not add points that are obvious (e.g., the Levitation potion makes you levitate).
When writing dates, write out the month and the year at minimum and in the acceptable format.
- Acceptable: "November 2018"
- Acceptable: The whole date is preferred. If there is a day, write it as: "November 24, 2019", for example.
- Incorrect: "11-24-2019", "24-11-2019", "24 November 2019"
Do not specify currency as "$160". Specify currency, such as "160 Bucks," 160 Gingerbreads", etc.
- Example: Use the template {{Robux|x}} in source editor, where x is the number of Robux.
Add a summary to every edit made, truthfully. It is courteous to let others know what you added, removed, or modified.

If you are not sure about how to fix something, notify a Content Moderator or Administrator.

Punishment System

The moderators or administrators will ultimately choose what punishment is appropriate for a user if a user has committed a violation of the Rules and Guidelines.

Blocking System

The blocking system is implemented to establish productive, respectful, and safe environment for contributors while maintaining the quality of the wiki for both the wiki side and the Discussions side.

There are two types of blocks:

Stackable blocks
Standalone blocks

Stackable Block

Stackable Blocks are blocks that can be stacked based on the number of outstanding blocks a user holds. Stackable blocks only apply to minor policy violations, which only include 1-hour, 2-day, and 1-week blocks. An outstanding block is an existing 1-hour, 2-day, or 1-week block (warning or block) on a user's record, where it has not been a full 14 days since the end time of the block.

Example:

Let's say a user has 2 outstanding blocks. The user has violated a minor policy by attempting to trade 19 or more items at once. The user will be issued a 2-day block and the number of outstanding blocks will increase by one.

Standalone Block

A standalone block is a 2-week, 1-month, or infinite block, where the user would violate a major policy. Any policies under these durations will only be given to the user for that duration, where there are no block stacking.

Example:

The user has violated a major policy for cross-trading for in-game currency. A 2-week block will be issued to this user. This does not increment the count of outstanding blocks since it is a standalone block nor does it stack.

Hosting spam discussion post(s) to reach to the Hot Page on Discussions Harassing users e.g., users who target a user for declining a trade by spamming or an attempt to discourage others to trade with the targeted user Negative user – using derogatory terms towards someone Cross-trading for in-game currency Trading for bucks, which is outside of the intended trading system from the Adopt Me! game. Posts made intentionally to gain users' sympathy.
1 Month	Major policy violation(s), which includes but not limited to: Using a personal incident to attempt to manipulate user's expectations for a trade or giveaway. Intentional Scamming Cross-trading for items from games other than Adopt Me! Plagiarizing Art
Infinite	Major policy violation(s), which include but are not limited to: Posting content for mature audiences (e.g., pornography, abusive, etc.) Trolling (e.g., Negative user upon joining wiki, posting phishing links, etc.) Being a negative user that has continuously been disruptive to the community Promoting suicide Abusing multiple accounts Evading Block(s) (including minor policy violation blocks) Cross-Wiki Harassment Underage User (users under the age of 13) Impersonation of a Wiki or Roblox User Homophobia, ethnic slurs, religious intolerance, or content that encourages criminal conduct Violation of Fandom's Terms of Use or other Fandom policies
